Follow-up Comment #38, bug #51203 (project octave): Still cannot reproduce here even with bigger files. Good to here that the short pause solves the issue for you. If that is helping, the issue might be due to a busy or slow hard disk when the file is created. What does system("set temp") return for you? Is that a local drive?
