Follow-up Comment #13, bug #49609 (project octave): I have tried (on Ubuntu 14.04) a .local file * without the "Terminal=true" line * using Mike's suggestion: "Exec=/opt/octave-4.2.0/bin/octave --force-gui --silent" Then I can properly start the Octave GUI with the .desktop file, and I DO get the crash (see comment #3) back!
