Follow-up Comment #9, bug #47094 (project octave): That sounds bad. IIRC io-1.0.9 was a release w/o binary modules, so I suspect there's something wrong with the compiler stuff in your Octave installation. Could you try installing another OF package with binary modules? like image or tsa ? Alternatively, you could try to install Octave-4.0.1-rc3 from here: ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/octave/octave-4.0.1-rc3-installer.exe That has a complete io package inside (in 4.0.0 it is crippled). In the end you could try to simply reinstall octave-4.0.0.
