Details:

Hi,

The documentation for boxplot() from the statistics package uses "tics" in the
example, a command that is no longer available. The example can be fixed
simply by copying the demo code which uses "set(gca,"xtick",...)".

The fact that the boxes' width depends on the number of samples is not
mentioned in the documentation and might lead to confusion.
I would also suggest to implement a switch for this feature.

As a more general remark, some users might stumble upon this function for the
first time, not knowing that "box plot" is a fixed term and referes to a well
established plot type. For those users a reference, e.g. to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Box_plot, would probably be very helpful.

Best,
Martin
