Follow-up Comment #30, bug #44912 (project octave): Dan, the if-construct really seems to copy empty text (i.e. clearing the clipboard) when the copy shortcut is not Ctrl-C. I will prepare a cset fixing that. However, this should not affect the issues discussed here. The initialization is actually done in notice_settings.
