Follow-up Comment #23, bug #44912 (project octave):

With your patch, "focus in/out" seems to be displayed appropriately, each time
the focus leaves the Command Window.

I don't see anything when typing Ctrl-C. It also seems that nothing is copied
to clipboard when typing it after highlighting some text (in the Command
Window - it is fine with the Editor): i.e. Ctrl-C feels like a no-op.
