Right, and exist actually says that.  But, this does not seem
to be widely known.  At least, a Section in the Manual titled
something like "Initial definitions"  would be a help.  And,
a way to keep it in sync with the code would be very nice.

pi is also a function.  Another thing that I did not know
until now!
