If this plan is plausible for Chris and everyone involved, I'd upload
2.3.5 to unstable as soon as it's released, and then upload new versions
or cherrypick fixes from svn if releases don't happen on time for the
freeze, until nano is effectively frozen (being the default editor, the
release team normally blocks updates for it sooner than the rest of the
Debian archive).
