[Monotone-devel] Modifying monotone

I would like to use monotone as "back-end" for an application I'm 
developing. It, quite simply, has all of the features I need. Well, all 
except one. I figured that I should ask for some guidance before I 
started hacking on the source, so here goes:

    How difficult would it be to convince monotone to function without 
a working copy?

I need to manipulate the repository directly. All state (read: "files") 
are stored in the application until commited.
