Hi,

You should first check that your ISP is not transproxying you.

Transproxying consists in redirecting all traffic you create towards port 80
(8080,3128 ...) to one of the ISP's proxy servers. This is done
transparently by using their network infrastructure. If you are
transproxied, the information returned by the lowid test page is wrong.

The connection page returns the IP you are connecting from, check it against
the IP given by "ipconfig /all | more" in a cmd.exe windows.
If the IPs are not the same, ignore the information given by the lowid page.

Another way to check if you are transproxied is to telnet to server 1.1.1.1
port 80. If you get any kind of connection it means that you are
transproxied, as this IP can not be found within the internet :-)

Ie:
> Telnet 1.1.1.1 80
GET / HTTP/1.1 <Enter>
Host: www.test.com <Enter>
<Enter>

If you get some HTML, you are transproxied ....

Hi,

It seems i have a lowid, because i often obtain this
message from servers :
"ERROR: Your port 4662 is not reachable. You have a LOWID,
look http://www.edonkey2000.com/documentation/lowid.html !
Please correct your network config"
But the test i did here
http://www.thedonkeynetwork.com/connection_test returns
very often "error/resest on ip 213.245.69.7!" and
sometimes "success ... your id should be 122025429", both
on the same port 4662. So i don't understand if i have a
probleme with my id or not...
I put "mldonkey 4662/tcp" and "mldonkey 4662/udp" in
my "/etc/services" file. Is it correct?
I don't feel my download rates are bad but perhaps they
could be better? for example for the file X, i have "193
good sources (96.02 %)" with a dl rate at about 1.5kB/s .
For the file Y, i have "201 good sources (100.00%)". It
seems my dl rates are better since i check the option
"Auto max sources per downloads", instead of having the
default "hard 500".
Hope my questions are not stupid for this list...
Thanks for answers.
Thanks to developpers.
