You are absolutely right Liviu!
I installed it for my friend, and this the first thing he noticed!
I think that it is the tone that notify the pausing call is what needs to be the default ringing tone => it is softer and more gentle than the sudden, 5th symphony-like default one!
Good point by the way :) من جهاز الـ iPhone الخاص بي في 2014/11/16، الساعة 12:54 م، كتب "Liviu Andronic" < address@hidden>: Dear devels,This is one of my favorite long-time gripes with Linphone... Thedefault tones are extremely *loud*. And by this I mean LOUD. One of myfavorite jokes on Linphone is that its ring tones are designed to wakeup the dead. (Did I mention how loud Linphones ring tones are?)Now I know that one can change the default Ring sound in MultimediaSettings. But even if I plucked for a different tone from the defaultselection, orig.wav, it still is very, very loud. And of course Icould change for some other tones, but the reality is that end-userswould rarely change the default tones: you need to find where to dothat, to find a different tone that actually works fine, etc. Most ofthe times users will simply stick with the default tones (hence theubiquitous Nokia tones, iPhone tones, Samsung tones, etc.)So I think it makes sense to provide a sane selection of tones comingwith sane loudness levels. Or alternatively provide a customizableloudness level for the tones, as a percentage of computer sound levels(and set it to, say, a default of 70%). I say this because I havenever had such issues with, say, Skype, no matter how loud my computerspeakers are. But Linphone's ring almost always scares the hell out ofme, and this even if I'm actually anticipating a loud event. But Inever estimate accurately just how loud it shall be...Regards,Liviu-- Do you think you know what math is?http://www.ideasroadshow.com/issues/ian-stewart-2013-08-02Or what it means to be intelligent?http://www.ideasroadshow.com/issues/john-duncan-2013-08-30Think again:http://www.ideasroadshow.com/library_______________________________________________Linphone-developers mailing listaddress@hiddenhttps://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/linphone-developers
