I had a very similar problem, trying to add marks like "Moderato (* = 63)", yet using rehearsal marks at the same time for sectioning the piece. Problem is, Lily can't handle two RehearsalMark events on the same beat (don't know whether there's a workaround), so I wanted to use MetronomeMarks.Sounds familiar. :-) I got around the simultaneous RehearsalMark limitation by using invisible measures. My dirty trick is attached below. This time it worked but there might be situations, when it doesn't.
Sounds familiar. :-)My first attempt was using "grace skips" (\grace s16) instead of hidden bars. This makes it easier to align the time on multiple voices by far, and the result looked like yours.
Actually, it's a quite nice technique. Not sure where else I can use it (if at all); but since virtually everything in Lily uses stencils and you can combine them with ly:stencil-combine-at-edge, I bet there will be other applications.Your solution looks interesting, too. I must dig a bit deeper into it.
