Downloading or building?

The speed of downloading files depends on your internet connection and
what site you're using.  Normally this doesn't take more than a few
minutes unless you've got a really slow connection.

If you mean building, that's a normal timeframe.  It can take a day to
build all of the dependencies and Octave.
