RE: octave downloading time

Thank you everyone for your responses. Like Alexander Hansen said, it took 
about a day to build Octave and all its dependencies. I also have a very slow 
internet connection. It worked though!

Are you sure you are still observing downloading and not already build process ?

AFAIK
 on MacOS they build Octave from sources - and a lot of its
dependencies. For example, it might take half a day to build just ATLAS.
