Hi John,

Thanks for your answer. Now that 2.1.71 is online I've tried it but now,
the problem is that when I make octave, it tells me that it can't find
file "~/octave-2.1.71/doc/interpreter/octave.texi" although I've checked
it out and it is there.

Looks like a problem with the dynamic loader not being able to find
libraries.  Are they installed?  Maybe you need to do some additional
configuration?  BTW, what is PSOctave2170?
