that's strange. you're describing a symmetry problem in the
implementation which we check for in more than one place:
* in the selfTest() method: all our implementations implement such a
test, which gets automagically invoked when you request a cipher
instance from the CipherFactory.getInstance() method.
* in the mauve tests: specifically in the TestOfCipherFactory testlet.
can you submit some code that highlights this error?
