hello all,

i just checked in my recent modifications to the tree. here are the
pertinent points from the ChangeLog:

+ removed Util.areEqual() method and replaced with Arrays.equal.
+ moved keypair generation code to new subpackage: gnu.crypto.key.
+ added key agreement protocol API and implementation for: Diffie-
  Hellman, ElGamal, SRP-6 and SASL-SRP.
+ added a new signature scheme: RSA with PKCS1 v1.5.
+ added a Properties class under gnu.crypto where library-wide
  properties can be set and checked. three properties are currently
  used: REPRODUCIBLE_PRNG, CHECK_WEAK_KEYS, and DO_MILLER_RABIN by
  default set to false.
+ added code in DES to cater for CHECK_WEAK_KEYS.
+ added code in PRNG to cater for REPRODUCIBLE_PRNG.
+ added code in Primes to cater for DO_MILLER_RABIN.
+ updated the README and removed the section about configuring the
  library.
+ incorporated Edward Kmett SHA2 contribution classes. still need
  to cater for them in SASL-SRP implementation.
+ updated the SASL-SRP to align with upcoming version of the draft.
+ updated the texinfo documentation. still need to update the figures.
+ updated the AUTHORS and THANKS documents.

make check should return:

   0 of 3919 tests failed.

my plan for the next few days/weeks is as follows:

* investigate Mikael Hakman report.
* update the home page.
* generate class and sequence diagrams for the newly added classes,
  and update old ones. generate and check the manual.
* incorporate newly added SHA2 classes into SASL-SRP mechanism.
* implement PBE primitives as per RFC-2898.

i'd like us to target the release of version 2.0 of the library to
coincide with the next release of GNU Classpath --Mark, when is this
planned for?

hopefully also by then, all needed algorithms and primitives required by
(a) Jessie, and (b) a GNU Keyring File manager, would be present and
~tested.

cheers;
rsn
