i also got that working a couple of hours ago; i.e.

address@hidden build-gcj]$ gcj -v
Reading specs from 
/usr/local/gcc-3.4/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4/specs
Reading specs from 
/usr/local/gcc-3.4/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4/../../../libgcj.spec
rename spec lib to liborig
Configured with: ../gcc/configure --enable-shared --enable-threads=posix 
- --prefix=/usr/local/gcc-3.4/ --enable-languages=c,c++,java
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.4 20030925 (experimental)


and...

cat test_classes | ./mauveTest
0 of 3919 tests failed

i'm finalising some texinfo documentation and should be able to checkin 
the lot this weekend.
