gnokii installation errors (broken)

From: mikha
Subject: gnokii installation errors (broken)
Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2007 04:03:19 -0800 (PST)

I downloaded the binaries from the site you
gave(http://www.in.fh-merseburg.de/~jahn/).
I pasted the base gnokii binary at my desktop, then I tried

sudo dpkg -i gnokii_0.6.14+cvs20070111-1_i386.deb

but this is what happened

Selecting previously deselected package gnokii.
(Reading database ... 69877 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking gnokii (from gnokii_0.6.14+cvs20070111-1_i386.deb) ...
Adding group `gnokii' (113)...
Done.
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of gnokii:
 gnokii depends on libbluetooth2 (>= 3.0); however:
  Package libbluetooth2 is not installed.
 gnokii depends on libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6); however:
  Version of libc6 on system is 2.3.6-0ubuntu20.
 gnokii depends on libgnokii3; however:
  Package libgnokii3 is not installed.
 gnokii depends on libusb-0.1-4 (>= 2:0.1.12); however:
  Version of libusb-0.1-4 on system is 2:0.1.10a-22ubuntu1.
dpkg: error processing gnokii (--install):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 gnokii

and when I opened the synaptic package manager to look for the packages
needed, it told me that 1 package is broken, I found out this is gnokii..
1.So I looked for libbluetooth2 but there is none, there is libbluetooth1
only..
2.Regarding libc6, as said above, only libc6 2.3.6-0ubuntu20 is there and no
other versions available.
4.Same thing with the libusb version.
3.I have the binaries for libgnokii3 at hand, so I guess I just have to
install that for that part.

How should I deal with all of these? I really need help.
Or is it easier to install gnokii from source? I also have the specific
gnokii 0.6.14 for that case and I have tried installing this way once on
another desktop pc.

and another question, in both types of installation, no internet connection
is required? coz i currently have no connection with my ubuntu..

thanks in advance
