It requires entering dates, so they would have to be entered then
ignored. Seems a pretty ridiculous setup to me :(

They have to do that now.

I've just had a look at what options savannah has which we currently
don't use. There is "Keywords" (List of comma separated keywords
associated with this item), and a number of customisable fields -
"Customizable Text Field" (one line, up to 255 characters),
"Customizable Text Area" (multi-line text), and "Customizable Select
Box" (pull down menu with predefined values).

Perhaps we can use the last item for what you suggest. fill it with the
groups of todo items, and then use searches including that group on HTH.
