Any and all Youtube videos that I try give me only audio and the gnash error window. The file gnash stores has video as well as audio.
>The gstreamer1.0-libav package is available here...
I went to:
http://ubuntu.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/ubuntu-archive/
and clicked on the links that most closely matched my distro/system
(mirrors/ubuntu-archive/dists/utopic/universe/binary-i386/)
and downloaded an 8MB archive file named Packages.bz2.
When extracted, the resulting 33MB file seemed to be one big text file describing a host of packages.
Indeed, gstreamer-libav was listed.
Where do I actually find the package - I don't think it's in this text file (although the file is big for a text file,
were it to contain all those listed packages, say after all of the readable ascii text, it would be way too small...),
but I don't know what to do next.
If I found a .deb file, I could install it with GDebi.

On a closer inspection (with apt-cache policy), it looks like none
of my currently active repositories contain that package anymore.
The gstreamer1.0-libav package is available here:
*** 1.2.4-1~ubuntu1 0
500 http://ubuntu.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/ubuntu-archive/
trusty-updates/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
1.2.3-1 0
500 http://ubuntu.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/ubuntu-archive/ trusty/universe
amd64 Packages
I hadn't tried it.
Can you share the URL of the youtube video to check if it works here ?
