I guess you are on the good track by moving those include directory... 
But dont be scare to make some move and disturb the native installation 
of your freetype (not very standard) to comply the image magick exigences.
Something I want to add... Image Magick sucks at least for  install.

For running RedHat 8, if you can try binary builds you will gain some time !
