The command mark-defun has an optional arg ALLOW-EXTEND that is not
properly documented (it is not explicitly mentioned in the docstring).
I ran into this because I wanted to write a similar command for
another mode. But I am not perfectly sure how mark-defun is supposed
to use its arg ALLOW-EXTEND.
