Re: set-face-background doesn't work inside .emacs with GTK

I tried 3 other themes, and they all exhibit the same problem.

I also tried using sessions called "Ion2" and "PWM2".  They both work fine, just like XFCE4.  It's only GNOME which shows the problem, and it shows it with all 4 themes I tried it with.

I don't have any idea how to proceed with debugging this;  any ideas?

2.8 and 2.10.  I'll see if I can get my hands on something newer.
