Could you in the future discuss unrelated issues in different
messages? I started reading the stuff about TeX modes, decided that
this was more other people's area and skipped the rest of your
message. I only accidentally noticed the undo stuff later.
The issues were related, for me, by the fact that neither of these
things seemed to be documented completely in the NEWS file. It
really should be considered to be part of a general critique, or
rather feature request, for better documentation of new features.
The two cases I cited were both examples. I'm sure there are more.
But I do appreciate the specific comments about `undo-ask-before-discard'
and I can certainly see how I could have submitted the two bug
reports separately and also a third general feature request.
So, in answer to your question, yes.
And for a general related message, please see
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2005-03/msg01238.html
(So, note that I did at least try to break the discussion up into
two pieces. Next time I'd be willing to do it in three.)
