mouse-avoidance-mode and mouse-autoselect-window

If you use both mouse-avoidance-mode and mouse-autoselect-window you
can find that the mouse automatically moves into another window (due
to the avoidance setting) and that window then gains the focus, you
then find that you've edited the wrong file.
This can be slightly disconcerting!

Is it possble that mouse-avoidance-mode could be prevented from
changing window (only if mouse-autoselect-window is t?)
