If I'm not looking very carefully, I don't see the arrows in the menu at all. I gather this is to make Emacs integrate better with some Gnome style, but I can't say I like it :).If people want that, they can use the gtk version, surely? But the items I see in gtk applications -- sawfish, for instance -- are actually bolder, and the menus in gtk Emacs are completely different. (Gtk 1 v. gtk 2?)
There is a difference between Gnome toolbars and GTK toolbars. It may be the same for menus, I haven't looked in to Gnome specific widgets. Jan D.
