Of course.  I meant a ``Cygwin port'', not ``build''.

What sort of ``trade-offs'' do you mean?  The tradeoffs that spring to
mind are:

Ease of Porting/Ease of Use
  -- Unix paths everywhere vs. Windows paths
Functionality/Ease of Use
  -- Xlib & remote displays vs. Showing up on the same desktop
Familiarity to Windows Users/Familiarity to Unix Users
  -- Looking like NTEmacs vs. Looking like Emacs on GNU systems
Ease of Porting/Speed
  -- Using Xlib vs. Using the Windows GUI

I'm sure these are not all the tradeoffs, but am I on the right track?
And, more importantly, are there any important tradeoffs I've missed?
