re Redhat 7.3 "dvdrecord" vs the demo version of "cdrecord-prodvd":

While  Redhat 7.3 dvdrecord fails on a MATSHITA DVD-RAM  LF-D310,
the latest cdrecord-prodvd (Mar 28 2002 -
ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/ProDVD/)
seems to now handle things.

Pity about the diversions of effort here - but such is life.
