the biggest point is that as i understand it fresco aims to provide a 
comprehensive widget set as part of their server. so an apropriate backend 
would consist of more or less simple wrappers around their interface, 
actually to make full use of what fresco provides these wrappers would in 
fact replace -gui. i do not know how flexible their widget set is in terms of 
making it look like *step. 

one perspective for gnustep could be to become the development language of 
choice for fresco apps. i contend that the nature of objc allows for a much 
more natural corba interface, than say c++.
