So, basically you're looking for something that takes in RF at,
say 2m or 70cm, and then converts it to an intermediate frequency
that could be fed directly into a sound card? Oh, and make
it easy for the random hobbyist to build. :-)
Would something like the front end of the DSP-10 (see the articles
at http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/sdr.html) be similar to what you're
looking for? TAPR produced a kit for that
(http://www.tapr.org/tapr/html/Fdsp10.html), perhaps they could be
persuaded to help with this too. :-)
