[Chicken-users] utf8 open tickets

I have two open tickets against the utf8 egg:

Both of them are simple fixes, one of them is causing several
packages not to compile against the experimental branch, which
Christian has just begun nightly builds for:

Alex, will you fix these tickets?  would you like help with
them?  What do you need to get these tickets fixed?
