I'm curious why you think this... do you think "xato" (or even xatu!),
"vc" and "tô" are also ugly? (for everyone else: they are pt_IRC
abbreviations for "chato", "você", and "eu estou" respectively - feel
free to have a rant on this - I'm genuinely curious ;) Is "ugly"
important? Is it just that you're obsessed with perfect pt_BR, or do
you think most pt speakers would be personally offended, find it
confusing, unprofessional or whatever?

Basically, the reason we're having this holy war is some users want more
information, but we can't fit the information if some cultures object to
abbreviations.

pt_BR: full!
------
Minor Início Fim Tipo Sistema de arquivos Sinalizador
1 0.984 199.828 primary linux-swap

en: plenty of room!
---
Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags
1 0.984 199.828 primary linux-swap

So we have a choice: good language vs good information.

What's more important?

I'd like to think information is more important...
