okay first make the partition active, that might help.
then do the 'fdisk /mbr' anyway.
then do 'sys c:' and see what happens
then reinstall grub.
you may have to zero out the partitions boot sector using 'dd' you can
find info on doing that in the mailing list archives. but I think the
fdisk /mbr should help in this regard.
