I am having similar problems with html export, which I reported in 2 bug
reports, one on 9/30 and one on 10/1.

When I reloaded an old build (020813), the export worked properly again, and
saved settings would stay put. With 020923 and newer builds I get garbage
html from either the "GNU Backgammon" setting, or the "BBS" setting (with
proper paths to html). I also get the same quirky return to "fibshtml" that
you report.

I seem to have corrupted my export settings and can't get them back.
I did an install of windows build 020930 today and it's gone wrong, even
though I was previously using the 020930 snapshot.

My settings are for :
set export html pictureurl  ../Images/
set export html type bbs

I am getting rubbish characters in my html:

<img src="../Images/n_high." alt="" /><br />
<img src="../Images/o_w_0." alt="" /><img src="../Images/p_up_b_2."
alt="2O" /><img src="../Images/p_ud_0." alt="&nbsp;'" /><img
src="../Images/p_up_0." alt="&nbsp;'" /><img src="../Images/p_ud_0."
alt="&nbsp;'" /><img src="../Images/p_up_0." alt="&nbsp;'" /><img
src="../Images/p_ud_w_5." alt="5X" /><img src="../Images/b_up_0." alt=""
/><img src="../Images/p_up_0." alt="&nbsp;'" /><img
src="../Images/p_ud_w_3." alt="3X" />

Furthermore, despite the above settings, when I start GnuBg and open the
Export Settings window, FIBS2HTML is selected.
If I select BBS..OK, then back to FIBS2HTML...OK I get a program crash.
