Reread a good explanation of regular expressions.  As a hint, this would
do the same thing:

echo "com.br" | egrep '[a-z0-9]\.[bcefgimnortz]+$'

You probably meant

echo "com.br" | egrep '[a-z0-9]\.{biz|org|net|info|com}+$'
