Hi. I never thought ed was much good interactively until I
started using it on plan 9. There and on some earlier Bell
Labs UNIX versions, there's a "browse" command, which has
the command "b".
I really miss browse in GNU ed, because there's no convenient
way to display the contents of the file being edited.
The attached patch appears to add the missing functionality
and was created without reference to any other ed sources.
It would be great if every system's GNU ed had the browse
feature, so I'm interested to know whether a change like
this might be incorporated.
