Use of tar-1.12.msdos.exe

Hi Tar People,

I have tried today to use the program to create a tar file to move files
from a W2K machine to an AIX machine. I fonud that some of the directory
structures changed case. Or, am I doing something wrong. Couldn't find a
flag for it.

The tar program seemed to preserve directories starting in UPPERcase but
not when the directory was in full UPPERcase. Fro example,

XML on W2K was created as xml on AIX

but

Instbase was created correctly as InstBase

and all lower case directories were created correctly.

Has this been observed elsewhere? Is there a workaround?
