Hmm? I am not talking about library searches here. I want ld to look for
the *dynamic linker* where I tell it to.

I do not care how - via environment variable, -dynamic-linker, or a new
flag, but the dynamic linker should definitely *not* be searched in the
ld's LD_LIBRARY_PATH.  It's kind of a very wrong place :-)
