Well, it was a little difficult testing with Bongo since my other
computer does not have a sound card, but I managed to get something
out of it. It turns out that I get the exact same behaviour on my
other computer. (That is a Sarge box, by the way.)

I noticed one interesting thing, though. If I press a key and wait, it
will immediately display in the echo area after Bongo stops playback.
And there is no space this time.
