nope. it's not in the axiom tree yet. i'm in the process of trying
to move the axiom gnu-arch to a new domain due to space problems so
even the book is lagged.

i don't believe it is an exec-shield problem because CY is able to
save an image and use it to compile the gcl code. the system dies
once it tries to compile axiom's lisp code. most curious of all
is that it compiles cleanly by hand.
