Good idea. I logged into my google docs account with my browser, and I can see the parent folder where duplicity is archiving my pc, but that parent folder is empty. How would you access the manifest

do you (your mail server) by any chance use blocklists . in my experience mailing list smtp servers sometimes end up on some blocklist provider and it'll take some time until they are removed again.

the options i linked are meant to enable piping of a passphrase into gpg. if you want to be asked you should leave away the gpg option, if i remember correctly. ..ede/duply.net
