OK, it may take me a bit to get it set up with 1.8, but I'll post here if
that works.

Also, just fyi I see 1.9.1 support mentioned here:

Also 1.9.1 is apparently supposed to be stable:

Thanks for the help.  I don't mind unloading the ruby support for now as I'm
not using it.  I'll try to test with 1.8 and/or poke around in the source
(though I probably won't be much help) if I get a chance, but feel free to
close the bug if need be.
