Ian, I would tend to say that we're not running a particularly 
control-based development team here.  We don't have enough people 
that we have to worry that much about stepping on each other's feet.

It's good to get feedback and approval from the rest of us, but I urge 
you to not worry about it *too much*.  If you have a good idea that 
you can code, code it.  If it works and does something useful, the 
chances of it being thrown out are low.  And every bit of code you 
write makes you more of the leader yourself.

If we get more people on here, maybe we'll need more formal 
leadership.  But at this point, I think any working code is useful...  
When I got started on this project, I worried about the same thing.  
Then I realized that nobody was going to tell me what to do; I had to 
pick something and make it happen for myself.  I still haven't gotten 
around to that, so I haven't been much of a help yet ... but it's the 
idea.  Just don't be like me; follow through and write something. ;-)
