From the point of view of a user: the suggestions of Darcy in the message "Three specific suggestions for the TeXmacs community" point to the right direction on how to make it possible to interact with other users. Separating clearly between the developers' work and user contributions could make it easier for users to contribute and this would benefit TeXmacs and in turn all of the users. I feel that thanks to the Guile interface users would be able to write wonderful software for TeXmacs, and making it easy for them to make their contributions available to other users could stimulate people to write their own extensions to TeXmacs. One initial possibility is perhaps through a TeXmacs wiki site, where users could have personal pages and maybe there could be pages which collect extensions (with minimal supervision/moderation). See this for example: http://moinmo.in/MoinMoinExtensions; one could think of more complex arrangements afterwards in case the success is big.

For what regards the mailing list and forum: the forum has been lively in the last weeks; I feel it could be a precious resource for TeXmacs; perhaps JvdH can consider linking to it from the official webpage of TeXmacs.
