cppopts.texi in gcc 4.7.0 (and other files and other versions) has
(effectively) this construct:
@table
@itemx --help
@itemx --target-help
..
@end table
The new makeinfo (correctly) diagnoses that @itemx should not come
before @item and reports it as an error. While that makes sense, I
think we might as well be friendlier and make it a warning. I assume it
is not hard to treat it as if they had said @item.
Since neither texinfo.tex nor C makeinfo diagnosed this, and confusion
between @itemx and @item is widespread, I suspect there are quite a few
documents out there with this mistake, and we might as well not make
them gratuitiously fail.
