There is no rule to compress the sysvinit tarball using the
chosen compressor.  The current tarball (.tar.xz) is a plain tar (GNU).

$ file sysvinit-2.90-beta.tar.xz
sysvinit-2.90-beta.tar.xz: POSIX tar archive (GNU)
