While playing around with truecolor support, I found out while screen
"master" seems to support truecolor since at least 5 years, none of the
releases since then have gotten this feature.
This has the effect that screen, at least in redhat and ubuntu, still
doesn't seem to support this in 2022.
Is there a reason why this hasn't been released?
Just found this thread when searching for truecolor support in screen. I tried the "master" branch and truecolor actually works fine for me. So I'm also wondering what's preventing us from releasing screen-5.x. Isn't "master" branch stable enough? If it's not stable for a release could we backport the truecolor support to screen-4.x?
