The process bzr does not end, ie. I do not get my prompt back.

After 40 minutes, the CPU is pegged at 100%. My guess is that it's idle
as far as the network is concerned.

There is no network activity while the CPU is pegged.

282M. I see I am not getting everything as Andreas' rsync fetches 437M.

I guess not since all the data has not been fetched.

I tried that too but wasn't very lucky. I posted what happened.
