Oh.  Interesting.  I wasn't expecting it to show up with the socket
directly on filedescripors 0 and 1.  I had presumed that inetd would
have the shepard the packets between the sockets and the FDs.
A quick test here would have led to a better question.  Sorry.

Given the remote address (in CN), it looks like the sockets are victims
of the Great Firewall.  Perhaps they only inject the socket-killing
packets to the host inside the firewall, leaving this side to get stuck.

If the timeout only (tries to) appl(ies)(y) to processes which do not
seem to be working, then perhaps these do seem to be working, even
though they are stuck.  But that is just raw speculation.
